UK Tourist Visa Application process 

Step 1: Check Eligibility

You can apply for a UK Tourist Visa if:

o   You are visiting for tourism, leisure, or to see family/friends.

o   You can prove you’ll leave the UK at the end of your visit.

o   You have enough money to cover your stay, travel, and expenses.

o   You do not intend to work or study long-term.

Step 2: Verify and Prepare the Documents

Compile the required documents for the application and prepare the final documents.

o  Valid Passport (with at least one blank page and valid for the entire duration of your stay in the UK)

o   Resident ID - Oman Residence Permit. Your resident ID is valid for at least 3 months beyond your travel date.

o   Visa Application Form (Online Submission)

o   Recent Passport-sized Photograph (meeting UK photo guidelines)

o   Travel Itinerary (flight and accommodation details)

o   Proof of Funds (bank statements, payslips, tax returns)

o   Employment/Business Proof (employment letter or business registration)

o   Invitation Letter (if visiting family/friends)

o   Proof of Ties to Home Country (job, property, family responsibilities)

o   Previous Travel History (if applicable)

o   TB Test Certificate (if required based on your country)

Step 3: Apply Online

o   Visit the official UK Government website: 
o  Fill out the visa application form online.
o  Pay the visa fee: £127 (for a 6-month visa).
o  Select a Visa Application Centre (VAC) for biometrics.

Step 4: Book a Biometric Appointment

o   Visit your chosen Visa Application Centre (VAC).
o    Provide fingerprints and a photograph.

Carry the below documents while going for biometrics:

o  Appointment Confirmation Letter – Proof of your scheduled biometric appointment.
o   Valid Passport – The same passport used in your visa application.
o   UK Visa Application Form (Online Submission Confirmation) – A printed copy or digital proof.
o  Visa Fee Payment Receipt – Some VACs may ask for this as proof of payment.

Step 5: Biometrics Submission 

Visit the Visa Application Centre on the day of the appointment and you have to submit the Finger Prints. Make sure to keep your hands without henna. Some applicants may be asked to attend a Credibility Interview to explain their study plans, finances, and reasons for choosing the UK.

Step 6:  UK Visa Approval - Wait for a Decision

o   Standard processing time: 3-6 weeks
o   Priority processing (extra cost): 5-10 days

Step 7: Receive Your Visa & Travel to the UK

o If approved, you’ll receive a visa sticker (vignette) in your passport.
o   Check the visa validity and conditions before traveling.
