Zugdidi served as the capital of the principality of Mingrelia until 1867, when the principality was abolished by the Russian Empire.
9) MESTIA
Mestia is a small and beautiful town. It is the capital of the Svaneti region and has been named a World Heritage by UNESCO. Mestia is a paradise for mountain lovers and home to the country’s highest mountain Shara (5201 metres above sea level). 10) BATUMI
Batumi is known as the “Pearl of the Black Sea”. It is a seaside town in the Adjara area and one of the earliest cities in Georgia. Its origins go back to the age of ancient Greek colonialism.
